I’m Tina,and I’m from India.English is one of my favourite subjects, so I went to an English language school in the United States.My class is quite small.There is one student from China, two from Thailand, one from Japan.We study English every morning, Monday through Friday.On weekends we visit many famous places.

I’m very lucky because my host family is in a quiet area outside the city.There are Mr and Mrs Brown, their son David.All of us like playing sports, and always watch sports shows in the evening.

Life is a journey.Come to the United States for two months and have fun learning English like I do.

Last term my classmate Elise looked worried, because she was having difficulty learning English.The first problem was that she couldn’t get the pronunciation right.She was asked to borrow some tapes from her teacher and listen to them at home and repeat the sentences that were difficult for her.Listening indeed helped her pronunciation a lot.The second challenge was that she forgot a lot of new words.She was told to always write the new words in her notebook and study them at home and even study on the train on the way to school.It really helped.The third trouble was that she could not always understand when people talked to her.She was advised to join an English club to practise speaking English.The English club met after school on Mondays and Wednesdays.The last problem was that she didn’t get much writing practice.She thought of a fun way to practise writing by finding a pen pal.This term she looks confident every day,because she has solved all the difficulties.I used to give up when I met difficulties.After learning about Elise’s story,I will think of ways to solve the challenges whenever they appear.
