Dad:Yes,I have.I've practised it every day.My level is better than it was last year,even though I haven't been to classes.But my handwriting still isn't very good.I've still got some work to do on that.And I still find reading Chinese quite difficult.

Tony:Do you think you have to be really smart to be good at a foreign language?

Dad:No,I don't.Whatever you do,you have to make an effort.I think Chinese is simpler than English,anyway.

Tony:I wish I spoke Chinese as well as you do.

Dad:I think your Chinese is quite good already.I'm really proud of you.
