M:Don’t you find it a little boring?

W:No.In fact,I like doing cleaning.

M:How much time do you spend on it? I know some people do it one or two days a week.

M:I guess you are right.Look how much litter there is on the ground.

W:Why don’t we pick it up right now? Tomorrow is April 22nd.That’s the Earth Day,and this is the perfect clean-up activity.

You don’t have to be a superhero to help improve the environment.Even small actions can make a difference.Amariyanna “Mari” Copeny has another nickname:Little Miss Flint.Mari,10,lives in Flint,Michigan.Since 2016,Flint’s residents have been without clean drinking water. That is when the water gets polluted with lead.As a result of lead poisoning, children in Flint have suffered from health problems.

“We knew that the water wasn’t good,” Mari said.“But we had no idea that how bad it was and that it was making us sick.” Mari has worked hard to spread awareness of Flint’s water crisis by organizing activities.

“Never let anyone tell you that your voice doesn’t matter,” Mari says.“It may not always be easy, but you will find adults who support you and want to hear what you have to say.”
