M:No kidding.Who knew we’d all be on a walking tour of the city before the meeting?

W:Maybe they think it’s the first time we’ve come to the city, so they arranged it.I remember seeing a shoe store just around the corner from here.Do you think we have enough time to stop by? I honestly won’t be able to walk back unless I get some relief for my feet.

W:Yeah, it’s my job.I’ve been working late every night. When I finally get to bed, I keep thinking about all the things I still need to do.

M:That’s not good.

W:And I’m not eating well, either.I’m so busy at work that I skip lunch.By the time I get home, I’m too tired to cook, so I just order a pizza or something.

M:Oh, no.You have to take better care of yourself, or you’ll get sick. You need to stop working so late. And you need to eat at least one good meal every day.

W:I know you are right.I’ll try.

M:Michelle, why are you dancing? I thought we had to study for our maths test!

W:Oh, hi, Drake! I was just doing some exercise.I thought you wouldn’t get here until later.Let me turn the music off.

M:You exercise by dancing? I thought things like running and bicycling were considered exercise.

W:Well, those are other ways to work out, but I like to dance. It’s fun to move around to music, and you can definitely work up a sweat.Do you like to dance?

M:I sometimes dance at parties, but I’m not a very good dancer. For exercise, I prefer playing football.I want to get really good this year.I hope to make the football team in the fall.

W:Cool! I know you like to go to the park on weekends and play football.Maybe you should try dancing, and I will try playing football.

M:Do you know how to play football? It’s really very easy once you try, but it does take some practice.

W:I can’t play football very well, even though I used to play a lot when I was a kid.If you teach me some of your football moves, I will teach you some dance moves! How does that sound?

M:It’s a deal! If there weren’t the maths test tomorrow, we could definitely go to the gym right now.

W:Right. No more fun and games.Let me get your notebook.

M:They’re very nice. They had lived in the city, but they got tired of the life there. So they moved here.

W:What do they do?

M:Mr Green is a manager in a computer company and he drives for over an hour to go to work now.Mrs Green is a writer.

W:Going to work must be tiring for Mr Green.

M:He works just four days a week, so I guess it’s not that tiring.By the way, they’re throwing a party tomorrow night. They want to know the people in the neighbourhood.

W:Tomorrow night? Yes, I think I can make it.

M:Good.I love parties in the neighbourhood.

听第10段材料,回答第18至20题。

Text 10

Here is a piece of news about paper.Scientists have come up with a new type of paper that can be printed on and then used again up to 20 times.Users will be able to either remove the writing from the paper themselves, or leave it to disappear over a period of time, after which the paper will be completely blank and ready to be printed on again. There is no big change in quality between the first and the twentieth printout.Under normal circumstances it seems that the writing will remain perfectly clear for at least three days, long enough for most practical purposes.

The new process does not require ink.Instead, the paper is printed on using a mixture of chemicals and light. If users want the print to disappear more quickly, they can apply heat to the paper. This can take as little as ten minutes. The hope is that in the future this paper will be widely used, providing an environmentally friendly alternative to ordinary paper.
